Good evening, I went into Home Depot to pick up some paint with my three young children. When I went to self-checkout, I was greeted by a gentleman named Michael around 8:00 p.m. This gentleman treated me and my three children with honor, respect, dignity, and kindness. He scanned my paint for me, spoke to my children politely, and told us to have a good weekend. Thank you, Michael, for your exceptional customer service.

I attempted to buy a couple of smoke and CO alarms this morning and found them to be locked up. I followed the scan instructions to notify an associate to unlock them, but got no response. I stopped four different associates to unlock them and was told this wasn’t their department, but they would get someone to help me. Each one of them returned and said someone would be right there to help me. After spending 40 minutes waiting for help, I just left. They had more expensive smoke alarms on an open shelf, but had the smoke and CO ones liked up. I never had this kind of trouble before.

We had an outstanding experience at the Home Depot Appliance Center, and I can’t say enough great things about the entire team. Stephanie has built an incredible customer service team, and it truly shows. Stephanie, Bahati, Donna, and Karina went above and beyond to help us every step of the way. They were knowledgeable, patient, professional, and genuinely cared about making sure we found the right appliance for our home. There was never any pressure—just honest advice, attention to detail, and exceptional service. We purchased a dishwasher, and the entire process, from answering our questions to placing the order, was smooth and stress-free. It’s rare these days to find a team that is so responsive, organized, and committed to taking care of their customers. If you’re shopping for appliances, do yourself a favor and ask for Stephanie and her team. The store used to be great. There are still some employees who care, but the woman at the returns counter on Wednesday, June 3rd at 5:25 PM was not one of them. I asked for help with an item that could only be retrieved by an employee because the aisle was closed with two men working in it. The aisle was right across from her. She walked over, took a deep breath, and simply said, “Sorry, I cannot do anything.” She did not even ask the workers if they could help. I knew exactly what I needed and where it was located, aisle 6 bay 4. This lack of care seems to be the new norm. Thanks to her, it is now clear that Lowes is better than Home Depot. What a sad day. I left everything else I planned to purchase and went to Lowes instead. It might be more expensive there, but at least the employees care.

I recently had a very disappointing experience attempting to return an online purchase at The Home Depot. I brought the item to my local store expecting a straightforward return process, but instead encountered a complete lack of assistance from both the manager Lisa and the employee on duty. Despite having my receipt and order information, I was told that they could not process the return in-store because it was purchased online. Rather than offering to look into the issue further, provide guidance, or attempt to resolve it, they simply instructed me to call customer service myself. No effort was made to contact customer support on my behalf, check with another department, or clearly explain why the return couldn’t be handled at the store level. Following their direction, I called the customer service number. The representative Carlos was able to quickly credit my account without issue and even expressed confusion as to why the return could not be processed in-store. What was most disappointing was the lack of customer care and initiative from both the employee and the manager. There was no attempt to empathize, offer alternatives, or ensure I left with a clear and satisfactory
